King Charles III announcement

Unity Insurance Welcomes HM King Charles III as New Patron of the Scouts UK

Unity Insurance is delighted to hear of the announcement that HM King Charles III has been confirmed as the new Patron of the UK Scout movement. This prestigious role marks a significant honour for the Scouts, continuing a rich legacy of royal support.

Continuing a Long Tradition

His Majesty’s appointment follows a storied tradition dating back to 1912, when Scouts received their Royal Charter and HM George V became the first royal Patron. Before King Charles III, the role was held by Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for her 70-year reign, greatly contributing to the Scouts' growth and success.

A Champion for Young People

HM King Charles III has long been an advocate for young people. He has his own charity, The Prince’s Trust. His acceptance of this Patronage underscores his commitment to empowering youth.

At Unity Insurance, we share this commitment and are proud to be part of the Scout organisation, arranging insurance and gift aiding all our profits back to Scouting to support young people with skills for life.
